Rooted: A short film on Indigenous Land Access in Southwest Colorado

THE STORY

Rooted is a short narrative documentary that focuses on the importance of tribal access to traditional homelands. Members of the Ute Mountain Tribe and private land owners are part of a collaborative effort called The Traditional Harvest Project. The film portrays an Indigenous movement of rematriation to land, spirituality, community and the natural world. Tribal leadership and key partner voices lead the story of Indigenous land access in southwest Colorado.
